Connect your website

  1. Create a ZnowPulse account and verify your email.
  2. Add an HTTP / HTTPS monitor using your final public HTTPS URL, such as https://example.com/. Use GET to check the response body.
  3. Set a keyword to “Must Be Present”. Choose stable text in the returned HTML, such as your site name or a page heading. Avoid text that only appears after JavaScript runs.
  4. Enable SSL monitoring if you want certificate problems included. Choose an available interval; Free checks every five minutes.
  5. Configure an email or webhook destination and confirm a successful check. Use a safe test endpoint to verify failure and recovery notifications.

Check what the response really proves

A cached homepage can stay available while the WordPress origin has a problem. Add a representative public page served by WordPress where appropriate, and confirm its caching behavior with your host. Keep private admin and database endpoints private.

Go beyond a homepage returning HTTP 200

WordPress failures can affect one page while the rest of the site stays online. Give each important public URL a clear monitor name and an expected result.

Plugin and theme updates

A failed update can leave an error page or missing content. An expected keyword helps detect a response that is technically successful but no longer contains the page you intended to serve. It cannot diagnose which plugin failed.

Use a maintenance window for planned work, then confirm your checks recover when the update finishes.

WooCommerce product pages

Monitor your shop and a stable product URL with content you expect in their HTML responses. Treat these as availability checks; use separate functional testing for adding to cart and completing payment.

HTTPS and response times

Watch the HTTPS address visitors use and review changes in response time. Probe response time helps investigate slow requests, but it is not a browser page-load measurement or a Core Web Vitals score.

Do I need a WordPress plugin?

No. ZnowPulse requests your public website URL from external monitoring infrastructure. You do not need to install a plugin, edit your theme or provide a WordPress administrator password.

Can I monitor WordPress uptime for free?

Yes. The Free plan includes unlimited monitors, five-minute checks, 30 days of history, and email or webhook alerts. No credit card is required. Five minutes is a polling interval, not a guaranteed notification time; an outage between checks can be missed.

Will it detect a WordPress white screen or database error?

An HTTP check can detect a failed request, but some broken pages still return HTTP 200. Add a keyword that must be present in the response to catch missing expected content. A keyword check does not render JavaScript or prove that every part of the page works.

Can I monitor a WooCommerce store?

You can monitor the availability and expected response content of public shop and product URLs. A successful request does not prove that cart interactions, checkout, payments or order emails work. Test those journeys separately; do not configure repeated requests that create orders.

Does monitoring fix WordPress downtime?

No. Monitoring records check results and alerts you to failures. Use the failure timestamp alongside hosting logs and recent plugin, theme or deployment changes to investigate and restore the site.
